I want to start off by saying that I did get a press copy of this game but it will not dictate my direction with this article. I have completed the tutorial and some gameplay afterwards, and it seems like a tricky game to get the hang of. Who knew playing God was so tough right?
In the game, you can shift the height of the land, in turn controlling the temperature of the biome, and increase or decrease the amount of ocean in the world as well. Pending on several different factors, i.e. depth of the ocean, the height of the mountains, temperature of the biome, and prey, different life forms will pop up around or evolve from previous ones. There are also items that drop randomly that can help you induce evolution or help change the temperature of a certain area.
So far, for me at least, it's been a struggle just to get to the point where trilobites are in the food chain. Outside of the struggle to keep a good balance of life forms and temp to progress the evolutionary chain going, the game is enjoyable. I can't wait till I get to see some dinosaurs walking around in the world I created.
