6 Simple Ways Games Can Improve Your Child

Not all games are evil and time-wasters. While some games can be harmful, the right games will actually help and educate your child. If played for a healthy amount of time, chances are your children will take more positive than the negatives. ‘Dimble games’ has a collection of fun online games that anyone can play.

Now there are hundreds of games of every type and genre. There are learning games to help your kids learn, and then there are other video games that help in boosting the cognitive processes. Here are six simple ways games can improve your child.

1 Children become more social

While games are seen as something that isolates children, they are also a way of connecting the children. Children play online games and form friendships with other players while transcending national and regional boundaries. Parents and children can also bond by playing these games together, and this promotes social behavior in children. Games give a safe environment for kids to compete which results in learning persistence. Children at school also form friendships because ofdiscussing games and playing them with each other.

2. Peer learning

As mentioned before, children like to discuss games with their friends, and that encourages them to teach each other strategies and tactics, or help one another when someone is having a difficulty. Collaborative learning boosts critical thinking skills. In this way, games prove as a global touchstone for children.

3. Children become more creative

Our daily life can sometimes become dull and can suppress our creativity. Game designer Jane McGonigal says that games can fuel our idealism, inventiveness, our initiative. In short, games can make children think beyond the ordinary by nourishing their creativity. Children can gain a broader outlook on life. Games provide positive emotions and can be taken as a motivational tool.

4. Games inspire us

Parents can make learning relevant to the children with the help of games. Apart from that, games provide clear goals and allow us to take in control our learning process. In games, we can make mistakes without the fear of making mistakes and help children to focus their attention.

5. Games forms children’s interest

Games can develop children’s interest in history or other learning areas. Games like Age of Mythology make the Greek mythology seem interesting to the children, and they end up researching everything they can. You can lay out the connections between different topics with relevant games, and it will help your child learn more. In some video games, children have to take the help of mathematics to complete their levels.

6. Games can be rewarding

According to Tom Chatfield, gaming theorist, we have evolved in a way that we are stimulated by learning and problem-solving. When children play games, they are rewarded emotionally, and that makes them feel good. Games tell the players their progress and provide short-term and long-term aims. Games offer quick feedback, so children know the consequences of their actions.

Games can be actually motivating for children. Playing games can help boost children’s memories and problem-solving skills.

I have been anticipating this game for months now, re-watched the films and had the theme tune running through my head in the moments before the game would finally open. But thankfully the wait is over, and I could enthusiastically dig into all that nostalgia and Jurassic goodness.

Hi everyone, A lot has happened over the last three months, and I think it is about time I need to announce a couple of things I had been holding off on declaring till they were finalised. Because there is so much to go through, I will be splitting this across two or three posts over the next couple days. I understand that some aspects of the news/announcements may seem drastic, but do not be…

Just a quick word ahead of diving into this review I played this a while back before its release and I intended to release this review back then. However, due to…

I want to begin by saying that the following are just my thoughts based on playing multiple early access games ranging from open-world sandbox to first-person shooter zombie games to battle simulator games to underwater survival games to dungeon crawls and everything in between. The premise of this piece will hopefully be to be the grounds to spark a constructive conversation about early access games on any platform, may it be on pc or console,…
I have had the opportunity for the past few months to spend some of my time on an interesting game called Blue Collar Astronaut by Mutated Software which was released in March 2017 for PC, Mac, Xbox One, Wii U, PS4, PS3 and PSVita. Blue-Collar Astronaut is a challenging physics game set in space that harks back to the days of arcade-style games. The game revolves around a comical adventure exploring the difficulties of achieving…

Recently I have been playing an interesting game called Party Hard Tycoon; a spinoff of Party Hard and Party Hard 2. The tycoon variant takes the player on the journey of making a profit from running parties rather than being the one crashing them. I still have yet to fully explore all the game has to offer since my party business seems to be crashing and burning at a specific point in the game I…
