During PAX East 2017 I was able to get a first-hand look at Mothergunship (by Terrible Posture Games & Grip Digital), a first-person, shooter bullet hell game. The premise of the game is that you're a member of the human resistance that's trying to save the world from robotic aliens that nearly cleared out all of humanity. Right off the bat, you're given a triple jump, and throughout the game, you can get different power-ups giving you the potential for dozens of more jumps, parts for near limitless gun modifications, and other power-ups that will help you progress through the game. You can die in the game, and if you do, you're sent back to base and have to start the round all over again.

The demo that I played at PAX was really entertaining. It only took me a few moments to figure out the controls, and I hit the ground running with the game. After ducking and shooting my way through the first couple of rooms I went into the shop area to see just how far I could load up my gun, and I was not disappointed. As long as you have the proper parts and money to buy the parts, you can pick up money and parts from downed enemies; you can do just about anything with the guns. After the next room, I picked up another gun and proceeded up a tower. After I had got to the I was faced with the boss from the demo, a wall filled with at least 50 different guns shooting things from homing rockets to lasers, to bullets straight for my forehead. It took a couple of tries, but I was able to beat the level finally.

This game is from the same maker of Tower of Guns, and if you enjoyed that game, then you're going to enjoy this game as well. He commented on that he's keeping the aspects of the original game that people enjoyed and refining it and making a better experience overall. I enjoyed the demo greatly and look forward to when this game comes out. It's scheduled to come out on Xbox 1, PS4, and via Steam for PC later this year. I can see this game being popular among speed runners, which it would be very easily done with, and both streamers, YouTubers and regular gamers alike.
